Lorena García
Founder, Colombian Network for Electronics & Semiconductors
Lorena García is an Electronic Engineer from Universidad del Norte and holds a Master’s in Electronic and Computer Engineering from Universidad de los Andes. With over 17 years of experience in higher education, spanning teaching and academic administration, she currently serves as Special Advisor to ABET for Colombia and Latin America.
She is the founder of the Colombian Network for Electronics and Semiconductors, from which she drives initiatives to strengthen this sector, connecting government, academia, and industry around workforce development, quality standards, and policy.
A Senior Member of IEEE, she has been an active volunteer for more than two decades. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the IEEE Foundation and on the IEEE Educational Activities Board. She is the recipient of the 2022 IEEE MGA Leadership Award. Additionally, she is a member of the National Board of the Colombian Association of Engineers (ACIEM).
