Johannes Kelner, a Marketing graduate from PUCMM with a Master’s in Finance from Adolfo Ibáñez University in Chile, has nearly 20 years of experience in free trade zones, customs, and logistics. As Deputy Director General of Customs, he led key initiatives such as “Despacho 24 horas,” which facilitated the clearance of over 45,000 containers, and played a pivotal role in the government’s plan to position the Dominican Republic as a world-class logistics hub. He also contributed significantly to projects like ExportaMás and the development of National Logistics Centers. Currently, as Deputy Minister of Free Trade Zones and Special Regimes at MICM, he focuses on consolidating the country as a global investment destination, emphasizing the strategic repositioning of free trade zones and leveraging the nearshoring trend to enhance economic competitiveness.
