Juan Sebastián Moya Baquero, Ph.D.
Mixed-signal Circuit Designer, Symbiotic EDA
Juan Sebastián Moya Baquero currently works as a mixed-signal circuit designer at Symbiotic EDA. In 2024, he was a researcher at the Integrated Circuits Laboratory at the University of Michigan (USA), where he contributed to the design of a fully integrated receiver for body-coupling communication applications. He holds a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from the Industrial University of Santander (Colombia), an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (Brazil), and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Los Andes (Colombia), graduating in 2011. His research interests include circuit techniques and architectures for clock generation in systems on a chip (SoCs), as well as analogue front ends for wireless and wired applications. He is also involved in regional initiatives such as ChipPractice (formerly LatinPractice) and global initiatives such as the SSCS open-source technical committee. The committee organises global contests such as the Chipathon and Code-a-Chip to encourage the use of open-source tools in integrated circuit design and fabrication.
